Naturally occurring marine iodine
Unlike ordinary salt enriched industrially with potassium iodate (KIO3), our salt contains the iodine and trace elements naturally supplied by the sea. Produced by microalgae and phytoplankton in the tidal ponds of Cádiz Bay, it is dried only by the sun and Atlantic wind.
As an artisanal, unrefined salt, it enhances rather than masks food flavours, offering an authentic, balanced culinary experience.
Commitment and biodiversity in Cádiz
Choosing Dama Blanca sea salt with iodine directly supports biodiversity restoration in the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park and the protection of threatened birds such as the Kentish plover.
We hold the European Union organic production certification, guaranteeing salt free from microplastics and artificial additives.

Formats and culinary uses
Each crystal format meets a specific culinary need, from seasoning stews to adding a final crunch at the table:
Fine unrefined salt
Ideal for salads, cold dishes, sauces and fine pastries. Dissolves quickly, enhancing aromas without overwhelming the palate.
Coarse tidal-pond salt
Grains of approximately 3.5 mm for slow cooking, stews, rice and cooking water. Gradual, steady dissolution.
Fleur de sel
Crystallised at the surface and hand-harvested. A finishing touch for grilled meat, fish, vegetables or dark chocolate.
Salt flakes
Crisp pyramidal flakes that crumble gently between the fingers, adding texture and visual contrast.
Frequently asked questions about iodised salt
What is the difference between iodized sea salt and common table salt?
The main difference is origin and purity. Ordinary salt is often mined and chemically refined, whereas ours is obtained through natural solar evaporation of Atlantic water, preserving its mineral structure.
Is it recommended for people with thyroid conditions?
Iodised salt helps prevent nutritional deficiencies and maintain normal thyroid function in healthy people. If you have a diagnosed condition, such as hyperthyroidism, consult your medical specialist.
Does it contain additives or artificial anti-caking agents?
Not at all. Our sea salt with iodine is 100% natural, without E-535 anti-caking agents or synthetic bleaching agents.
Does the iodine change the taste of dishes?
No. The natural iodine in seawater blends harmoniously without metallic notes or changing the culinary character of recipes.
